General video game site takes new focus on consoles and market history
Ottawa, Canada – fatnewt.net launched the new version of its site today. The site, which began some 5 years ago as a hobby site, has been put into a more organized format and will now cover a specific area. Once branching off into a game cheats database, an image repository and a general information site, fatnewt.net will now consist of a game/console database and a directory of other gaming sites.
“fatnewt.net covers the history of video gaming through the various gaming systems and the companies that created them,” explains Colin Temple, creator and webmaster of the site. “It can be a buyer’s guide, a market research tool, a history lesson, or simply some information that is of interest to other gamers.”
As Mr. Temple also explains, the site will feature articles about some of these systems from time to time, and will make comments about the trends in the Ligaz888 gaming market, with comparisons to past events. “A lot of people make comments about the upcoming game systems based on the games they like now, ” he says, “fatnewt.net will keep an open mind about these new systems, but also look at their marketing and system ideas and compare them to the successes and failures of these companies in the past.”
Another main feature of the site will be a directory of gaming sites that will feature other topics. Colin explains “the site, [fatnewt.net], used to try and grab everything within the market. The market was simply too big. Instead, now the site will take its own focus and offer a directory of links to other sites which can offer other aspects.”
The directory will feature several sites approved and rated by Mr. Temple. The directory will be maintained by the webmaster to ensure the quality of each site. Additions to the site can be made at www.fatnewt.net.
The new version of the site has been launched with a summary of the console gaming history as well details and images for each console. The site will expand to a larger, comprehensive directory of systems and games, and the gaming directory will open as sites are submitted via the online form.
